Synopsis:

The Tricky Master is a wacky parody of the Hong Kong gambler movie genre, Leung Foon, played by Nick Cheung, is a police officer charged with the duty of taking down Fat Mantis (Boss Ferrari), a Crime boss played by Wong Jing. Taking down a master of tricks and swindle, is more tricky than young Foon initially gambles. To out-trick the trickery of the master tricker, Foon soon enlists the aid of a trickier tricker, “Tricky Master” (Stephen Chow), and hyjinx ensue.

How is it?

Well,.... how can I be positive?

It's got Stephen Chow. That is a positive thing, but he plays more of a supportive role in this one. This movie more of a vehicle for Nick Cheung than a Chow movie. The negative side is the movie sucks.

Stephen Chow Tricky Master

Most of the gags don't work. The cast did well enough. Stephen Chow did great, and to be fair, I laughed a bit during the movie, but most of the time, I had a question mark above my head. Perhaps something is lost in translation, because this movie was a blockbuster in China when it was released. In English though, in regards to jokes, the script was a bit too focused on quantity when quality may served better. This movie is a real fart.

Judge for yourself. Here's Ten minutes of the movie from you tube:

Some of the jokes work, some don't make any sense, and some are mildly entertaining. Which brings me to my classification of this movie:

Mildly Entertaining

This movie parodies some random well known movies. The Matrix scene I've grown so sick of, and somehow movie makers still think is funny to spoof, was done. Actually, a new comical twist was added to the scene (viewable within the first ten minute clip above) in the Tricky Master. I personally think it was hilarious. This gag worked extremely well.
